d:i386winnt32.exe /noreboot
During the install choose new installation, once it's done look at your c drive, it'll have 2 folders like ~winnt_bt~ and ~winnt_ls~, one is 8 megs, the other folder is 200 megs or so. The 8 meg folder you would rename to XPRO or whatever you want. The other folder name to WinXPPRo or whatever you want.
Gosh
I tried this procedure and only got a "$WIN_NT$.~BT" folder on my boot drive. There was no other one of about 200MB. Did I do something wrong. I too want to put XP and 2K on a single CD.
This is the 2nd time I have tried making a n-in-1 cd, and I get the same error:
Setup cannot continue.. see the log.
Cannot read file D:\i386\asms
I had this same prob on xp multiboot, now again with xp-sp1. The only way I got it to work before was to add files to an existing 6-1 iso image, leaving the \i386 and \wpro folders as is.
Do I need to delete one of the \i386\asms subfolders?
Looking at the subfolders of \i386\asms, some of the file dates are of the SP1 (28 Aug 2002).
If I force the date stamping of the files when I create the ISO, will that affect the digital signature (CAT) files in each folder?
KH, any ideas?
I forced the date for the files, now all is well and my xp/sp1 cd with DI, PM, SI, SM, NTFSDOS, File commander, etc works well. Even updates <so far> at the m$ site. We'll see after 9 sept if this still holds.
An interesting sidenote: Using the method described by Gosh, you cannot slipstream service packs into those types of installations. However, the overall installation size is indeed cut down by almost half the size of an original installation.
....anyone can provide a workin' link or pm me for khauyeung's files described in this nin1 tutorial?????....i'd appreciate 2 much, thx in advance boys!
