Take Playboy, one of their metatags before was barney. So kids looking for barney would scape against porn on their casual web search. My neices are growing up quickly because of this, they are being slammed with sexual topics by their classmates at school. Her and her friends focus on sports and each other to rid the distraction of the idiocy that surrounds them.

The biggest problem with all sorts of "Net-Nanny's" is that someone might tag a site different from what YOU might think it should be.

Who can/want to be responsible for filtering/cencoring the complete web,
saying its MY way or NO way ?

YOu _can_ do it in small scale, lets say in a company/school/home network, but still someone has to decide what is what.
And people in lets say USA have a different point of view than people in Europe.
At my workplace, we have a filter from a company in USA, blocking sites that is perfectly legal here,
both in general and in the internet policy of my company,
but since the developers thinks in a "USA way", the administartos here have a big job to do
everythime they update the filters, to make sure they don't block legal stuff.

Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything. 14% of people know that.

I can't agree with this one Rod, the internet should be a global resource not a global blanket for political correctnes. It's up to the end user or the end users legal guardian to ensure they protect themselves and their children from things they don't want to see.
