DirectX 10 to boost PC gaming
Comeback kid

PC GAMING will come back in fashion because popular game consoles can't manage DirectX 10 eye-candy, according to Associated Press.

AP claims that people are waiting for a new batch of games that take advantage of DirectX 10 such as 'Crysis' and the 'Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures' and they will be prepared to abandon their PS3s and get back to the computer.

Bill Roper, whose Flagship Studios is developing the action adventure game "Hellgate: London," said game developers were developing for the DirectX 10 standard even though few people had bought Vista or a capable graphics card yet.

Only a few DX10 games are available with most coming to the shops around Christmas and all it will take is people prepared to splash out on graphics cards that can run them. What the AP article seems to be suggesting is that punters will buy better graphics card for their PCs rather than splash out on the PS3 or Xbox.

It quotes a microvole saying that console technology was frozen when PC technology was pressing ahead.
