No-one wanted it
AN R600 CARD appeared for sale on ebay, obliquely fulfilling Hector's promise to have it on sale this side of Q2.
The card, one of early prototype revisions with an 80nm chip, was put on sale for less than $50 yet still no-one wanted it.
The board, a full-length, 12-incher with a massive cooler on top, was selling "as is due to the unkown item functionality".
It seems that seller had no idea what did he possessed, and so set the price at $49.99. It did not generate any interest and the auction was closed.
The card, as you can see
here is one of the first revs... a nice one, with only one gig of memory to boot. We'd have thought that Nvidia would have coughed up a few bob for it, just to save Hector's blushes. We guess he could now say it went on sale in Q1. But then he'll have to mention that no-one bought it.
