poor guy. I have a friend with an Asus A8V and he's been having so much touble with his mobo.

I chucked my old stuff and bought an ASUS P5B--all the way to SATA. Wish you the best, but my buddy is really suffering with dilemma after dilemma with his multi IDE/SATA mobo.
