SOFTWARE FIRM Microsoft is being sued in a Texas district court for allegedly breaching a patent which uses RAM cache to quickly launch programs.
Computer Acceleration Corporation (CAC) claims Microsoft has illegally used its patent,
5,933,630 - granted to it on August 3rd 1999.
Windows XP uses the method CAC claim belongs to it, the law suit alleges. Microsoft Office also uses a similar method, it's alleged. CAC claims Microsoft knows about the 630 patent but has continued to infringe on it. It therefore wants the firm to stump up damages, with the case being decided by a jury trial.
