Yeah and I am not sure I need it. Will have to do some tests. Have a working 430w atm. Perhaps it will be fine, since I wont be doing SLI untill after summer probally.
And check out this 1000w one. lol Pretty sweet. QUAD SLI!

That's if I even do this. Might just wait until AMD releases the new AM2 chipset and motherboards. Though I dont know if I can wait that long, with no computer. Well besides this pos 600mhz I am typing on atm.

get a top notch surge supressor first man, so that wont happen again..
and, get the biggest power supply you can afford, that way, you wont have to upgrade it when you get a new machine..mine is a 650watter, and that probably isnt big enough for whats coming out next year!!

Well, I just saw: "AMD Athlon 64 Processors for Socket AM2 to Be Launched on May, 23."
So I will be waiting. And yeah I had top notch surge protection. Too bad the damn thing only warranties your PC parts for three years.
Think I will grab this one:

Sorry, Will. Bad luck buddy. I would not wish this even to my worst enemy. Damn lightning is a curse. I get lots where I live. I am paranoid because of it. If I just smell rain, I plug out everything.
One positive though. Now you have a reason to upgrade.
Cheerz

sorry for your misfortune, but sometimes it's nice to have an excuse to build something new. My last rig is an A8N-SLI Premium. I love it. I put an AMD 64x2 4200+ in it and am thrilled. My other PC is an Asus P4C800 Deluxe with a 2.8 intel cpu. The A8N runs rings around it. In my case, I put it in an Antec Sonata case with the standard whisper quiet huge fan. The stock cooling system on the AMD is adequate and the cpu runs at 36C, whereas the GPU runs usually around 49-51C. Using a bottom end video NVidea 6600GT card. Seems to me the PS is 450 watts. Got 4 HD's (2-SATA and 2 IDE) in it, plus 2 optical drives (BENQ and SONY) in it.

Nice rikytik. Well, I got three hard drives, 2 dvdrws, sound system, geforce6800, and a few other. Been reading some stuff and everyone recommands at least 500w.
Well, I've decided to just wait it out. This 600mhz is fine for now. I'm going to wait until vista is out and directx 10.
