AMD signs deal with M-Systems to put logic on flash
CHIP FIRM AMD said it and M-Systems will work together on a family of products called Logic on Flash.
Memory subsidiary Spansion will include significant amounts of logic into future Flash designs, AMD said.
It will secure rights to a range of intellectual property including IO interfaces such as USB 2.0, power management modules, memory controllers and MMC, said AMD.
This makes a lot of sense. Surely it is nothing to do with the announcement a trade association made last week that it has appointed Intel to its board of directors.
