M$ pays $30 million to end antitrust case
SOFTWARE GIANT Microsoft has paid off the South Korean Internet Service Provider that accused it of antitrust behaviour.



Daum Communications complained to South Korea's Fair Trade Commission in 2001 alleging that Vole violated trade rules by linking its instant messenger software to its operating system.

The FTC is considering what action to take against the naughty Vole and has said that even if Daum was bought off, it would continue its investigations.

Another complainant in the South Korean case, RealNetworks, withdrew its complaint after Microsoft paid it $761 million to go away. More here.
