Crossfire to come in middle of September
The 15th is the target
ATI WILL FINALLY release its long awaited SLI counter marchitecture and we were informed that this should take place in middle of the month. ATI is postponing this release again and Nvidia cannot be happier for such a situation development.
It takes time to line up and release such a complex marchitecture and Nvidia knows it well. It took Nvidia almost two quarters from announcement to limited availability of their SLI boards but now a year later things could not be better for them. It has a wide range of SLI capable boards and cards and they are all selling more, or less of course.
ATI should announce Crossfire around 15th of September and date could not be better for the motherboard and graphic card manufacturers as it will give them more time to prepare their retail products for the launch.
You can expect that motherboards will be available as soon as ATI launches the marchitecture and master cards will be available as well. We are not sure about quantities of master card that AATI can provide until that time but the boys are doing its best. ATI plans to have X850 and X800XL version of master cards and you will be able to match them with your existing X850 or X800XL cards. Three more weeks left but ATI just missed back to school buying fewer but will be there on time for Thanksgiving and the ultimate one called the Yule.
