Definately better airflow with SATA --- plus much easier to put multiple hard drives in one machine (Ive got 5 in this machine) No need for that horrid Ultra ATA PCI card anymore as I always felt that was a huge bottle-neck in the machine.

I moved my machine over to a SATA main hard drive for my O/S from IDE and I can honestly say it seems to of made a slight improvement in the overall system performance.
