Sygate Firewall broken?

@Jaco, I also have a gigabyte nforce4 board and 1 gig of memory as well. Also tried Pro 5.6 build 2808. .....
@Jaco, what make of memory do you have in the in the mb?

Can this be a memory problem? Everything else seems to be running fine?

What would be the best utlility to test my memory?

What would you recommend Fisher? I am use Sygate in Server 2003. Would like to know alternatives.

Jaco, I have the same memory.

Used memtest86, as suggested by Will and no errors cropped up.

Decided to reformat and reinstall everything. Changed the order of instillation this time round. Installed Sygate before Avast and now everything seems to be running, Sygate included. Damn happy bout Sygate running.

Anyways, this is the last straw. I am going to dump Avast and puchase Nod32. After testing Nod32 thouroughly, I think Nod32 and Sygate is the prefect combination.

Thanks to all for the help and encouragement. It is at times like these that I wish I could invite all off you to a pub and buy you a round or two.

Yeap I agree. Working nicely hear though I pefer f-prot for real time protection. Dont need email scanning.

Woke up this morning and guess what greeted me?

A nice blue screen of death: "The problem seems to be caused by the following file: Teefer.sys" yada, yada, yada.

Imidiately uninstalled Avast and installed Nod32 (Which I was going to do on Monday).

Busy downloading the debugging tools from Microsoft as to install the debugwizard to create a text file of the dump file.

Where to go from here?
