Norton Ghost 9.0 Help Needed
I am trying to back up my drive with ghost 9.0 but I do not see an option to make the image bootable. Is this possible? I am trying to do this from within windows. I have not seen any documentation on symantec website for ghost 9.0.

No way to make it bootable. To restore you need to boot with the install disk. Can be a V2i, DI7, Ghost9, or LiveState disc.

user needs, do you mean your Ghost image can boot from CD like Knoppix or Linspire? i.e. Running windows off the CD? Curious to know.

Thanks,

There is a way to make a GHOST9 image bootable so you can restore with it. Lot of work for it though.

1) Make your image(s) [has to stay under 4 gig]
If image is going to be larger then 4 gig split at @ 4 gig mark so it asks for next disk. {each 4 gig part goes on seperate dvd]

2) Extract ghost9 cd to drive

3) Move your image [first image if more then 1] into ghost9 folder.
Other image parts just burnt to dvds.

4) Make ghost9 folder bootable dvd image like you were making XP cd.

5) Boot with disk, then browse to image to retore.

Has to be a dvd because windowspe is @ 350meg and ghost 9 is based on it.
