XP Home Edition - Remote Desktop?
Can you remote desktop from XP Pro into XP Home Edition?

Because in XP Home when I right click on My Computer - Properties - Remote there is no option to allow remote desktop like there is in XP Pro.

A possible workaround could be to install something like Radmin or any other remote administration software. They are all in general small pieces of code. Also some of the more famous trojans could do well. It's only the inbuilt, or not inbuilt, m$ desktop that won't work.

Thanks for the replys

I want to access my home computer from work via remote desktop.
My work pc has XP Pro and my home pc has XP Home. Would I have to install 3rd party software on both machines or just my home pc, and also what is the best software for this?

TIA.

Tried this?

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...dclientdl.mspx

Also I see:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...oteclient.mspx

The client software is installed by default on computers running Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Home Edition.

Um so home should work.

Strange, as the first sentence in the very same paragraph reads: The Remote Desktop Connection client software allows a computer running Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000 to control your Windows XP Professional computer remotely.
So, what's correct?

Go check Radmin out.

Another one you can try is Symantec pcAnwhere 11.5. You can also try the freeware UltraVNC. Googling is up to you.
