Has anyone else seen this?
After a reboot, the Windows Installer comes up, and I get a message saying "The MSI must be launched through Setup"..
If I click ok 3 times, it goes away..

Also, MSN messenger doesn't log in automatically anymore...

Wondering if it is just MY pc, or if others have seen this...

TIA,
wase4711

" In a house on the side of a big hill somewhere on the Pennines in the north west of England. Enough info??"
Need more info...

LMFAO!!

yeah, I don't care about having to re-login to MSN, but that message on reboot is a pain..
I may just go back to symantec corp, or wait for a REAL copy MKS_VIR, or the newest Kaspersky person PRO that is due out this week..
Norton is such a fricken pain, i should have known better...

I went through all this yesterday and then decided to put McAfee PF Plus verion 6 (new) in. Lot lighter in terms of an install and a really nice interface. But, I'm an old time Norton fan and will enjoy reading this thread.

yeah, mine was a fresh restore from an image that had Trend micro on it originally..Also, now when I open up MS Word, I get a simiilar Windows Installer come up..

NOW I remember why I ditched Norton a long time ago...out it goes!!
Hey Rikytik., does that Mccaffe App have an AV as part of it, or do you have to install that seperately??

I still am hoping for a working MKS_VIR, or the newest Kaspersky Personal PRO ....

No, wase. This new version 6 just came out a couple days ago on top of version 5 which I found sensational. Really nice stats. I have McAfee AV in one of my laptops as a test. But otherwise using Kaspersky for now on two desktops. I'm really impressed with McAfee Personal Firewall Plus.

yeah, I liked Kaspersky personal Pro, which is supposed to come out in version 5 any day now; the version 4.5 has been around a very long time...
Still like MKS_VIR the best though..
As far as firewalls, I have a NAT ROUTER,USR Secure Storage Pro 8200 NAS/VPN/Firewall, so for me, I think using SP2 Firewall, in conjunction with my router is plenty of security. I just cant decide on which Anti Virus to use!!

I thought I would see if the Norton 2005 stuff worked better than 2004, but, at least on my machine, it was nothing but trouble...
