Please be read, they are getting really dirty with copy protection. Once again, the honest (buying customers) people end up taking the big blow since the pirates know how to work around it.

If you wanna install the protected games, you have to agree to the EULA,so these protection developers are covered pretty well, even if they install some unwanted drivers on your computer...

As far as I'm concerned, that kind of thing's an act of electronic warfare. It'd be interesting to note if the brains behind Starforce 3 can be charged for damaging anyone's PC because of this - you'd think it's enough grounds for a hacking charge at least. Someone need to make an example of them!

As for cracks, I check certain sites (which shall remain nameless so the mods don't ban me) for cracks for the games that I own - I don't like damaging the CD's. The sites I use show what kind of protection the game has.

Oh it gets better. Take a look in the article, at the last sentence in the fifth paragraph down from the top of the page.

Users also aren't alerted to the driver installation by the end-user license agreement present in most of the games that employ the protection technology.

If that is not grounds for a lawsuit, I don't know what is.

I think that's enough to sue the game developers, but not the company that creates the protection....they didn't add it to the game..

So, in the end this is resulting in people buying the game and then learn to find it for free just to avoid all the poopie that comes with their expense. Then they'll get next game for free as it in the end seems to be not only a good deal but also better.

The copy protection system inplemented brings more warez friends to the world.

Oh well.
