Well, I did a comparison myself and look what I found:
Look at the number of threads, and look at Virtual Memory size ! ( this column is overlooked by the majority of people because it's not activated by default ).
You can easiliy reproduce the results on your system. Just start both programs, and do a mail check. In task manager, choose View->Select Columns... and select : "Virtual Memory Size" and "Thread Count" Then look in task manager and see the difference...
