SOURCES CLAIM that HP is on the verge of introducing a Media Center PC early this autumn and aimed at the US retail market.
If the reports turn out to be true, this is likely to be the first mainstream 64-bit Media Center machine available in the US retail sector.
Windows XP 64, of course, is not expected to be available until the first half of 2005, but even so it would be a considerable coup for AMD to get an HP win under its belt.
Specifications of such a machine are not yet available.
Meanwhile, we're wondering when and how AMD will introduce PCI Express into its family. Could the rumours of an Nvidia AMD chipset in autumn provide a key to that mystery?
