About a month( or more ) ago you were playing with FTP srvr and come up to some conclusions regarding srvr and connection configuration... like

FTPsrvr->Router->Modem->Internet<-FTPClient

I remember that FlashXP was the winner but how did you suggest to set it up?

Another one is What was the suggestion for FTPSrvr?

Please help ... I'm unable to find that thread anymore.
Thnx.

Hi Folks, it has all gone away at the moment. I kept the info that the Thread contained. Was thinking about writing a new revised "Help" topic on Serving. Quite a few folks are trying various things to get Serving to work properly.

Now that M$ has made .NET serving tools available for testing, folks likely will be working on the new "Goodies". I expect to focus much of my discussion time on .NET and Servers over the next few months. Stay tuned.

Hi Folks, might be a bit slow for a week or so. Christmas Holidays and so on take up time. My thinking at the moment though is there are a number of components to this thing. Such as:

Broadband File Sharing Concepts
Broadband File Sharing Hardware
Broadband File Sharing Software
How to control access and provide a good service

Discussions and Debate on what Folks have found that "Works", Conclusions that are "Recommended". There are lots of bits and pieces of info. around which need to be collected into some type of "User's Guide to File Sharing". All this has to be done within the context of what you can get past guys like the RIAA.

There are quite a few pieces of Hardware/Software out there, some are just problems looking for a place to happen, others actually "Work". We need to find out easily and stop wasting a lot of time messing around needlessly. There are more interesting things to do with Life.

Hi Folks, the old Thread is now sitting in the "Archives" Section for your reference. That should answer some questions for the moment. Anything new will be in the current "Sections".
