I tried to convert a .avi file to DVD using WinAVI. The problem is the audio skips and stutters. I used Nero to burn the .vob file using the DVDvideo option in Nero. Am I doing something wrong or do I need another program that would do it right.

Nero works excellent for this. Jsut start Nero Smart Start and choose make your own DVD Video, add the files of your chioce, pic all your buttons, menus, ect... and go. I have converted alot of stuff lately lke this and it works great, plus i get to add my own special touches

Try with the dvdrom udf/iso option selected, instead of dvdvideo and add your VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS with your .vobs and ifos manually .

Try using TMPGEnc 3.x Works like a charm, combine it with TMPGEnc DVD Author and there's nothing you can't do with video files
