Out of the three anti spyware software I use:

Spybot Search & Destroy
Ad-aware
Spywareblaster

I have noticed that lavasoft Ad-aware has updates available more often than the others. I've been happy with all three, but of course like anti virus software it's only as good as the most up to date virus def. files.

Does anyone have a different program that they feel works better than the ones I've listed above?

I use Ad Aware, which seems to update the most often, and also use Spybot. Spybot shows problems with files relating with Outlook Express and Media Player, which I both use. I just ignore the warnings, which tell you the path to the file is invalid, when the path is fine.

My PC has been "clean" for 6 weeks. Somehow a casino program installed itself, and it was a week before Ad Aware detected it.

I wonder what's the next threat that we'll have to install some Whatever-Aware program for.

You said that you also use SpyBot but Ad-Aware took a week before it found that casino program. Did SpyBot give a clean report? If so this would point back to what I noticed about how Ad-Aware seems to be better up to date on protection.

Great info guys, thanks!

Actually Spybot never detected this casino prog. That's why it's a good idea to use more than one spyware detector program.

I get about 5 or 6 Ad Aware updates to every Spybot update.

Most recently I just added spysweeper to the mix, thanks Bads. I really like it's many options/features and the GUI is nice too.

I'm still using Adaware, Spybot S&D, SpywareBlaster and Spyware Guard all upto date with definitions and now spysweeper.

Only... Spysweeper found 1 spyware on my computer the others didn't. :P
