It is evidenced in the fact that they give away DVD's, in this program, that they say are worth $25.00 each when we know that there are rarely any DVD's that are priced over $20.00 at Best Buy (even as new relaeses) that they are not tellling these kids the whole truth.
It is even scarier to note how they mention the "starving artist" as one of the victims of piracy while the very blatant fact of the matter is that it is thier own industry, executives, and unethical practices - like tricking new artists into contracts or taking all the profit a new band makes - that perpetuate the existence of "starving atrists".
It would be nice f they resented a balnaced view point by having someone from the opposite viewpoint present as well. Or they could just direct kids to the Boycott RIAA website so the kids will have ammunition to argue thier points with.
But of all the issues that are bothersome to me it is the purporting of these so called instructors that they are somehow giving a lesson on morality and ethics. Yes, our public school system needs this type of instruction, but could be given in a much more conducive manner with which our children can actually learn something. Why don't they just offer a World Religion course or even and Ethics course as one can find at any community college?
The whole system needs a change for the better and it is not going to start by telling kids not to trade music online - which they are likely to do despite what the teacher says (or even if the kid says he won't). Has anyone read the list of words thathave been eliminated form school books lately because of political correctness? Here are few examples: Maid - becase it is demeaning to the working class, Sailing and Polo - because they are elitist, and vitrtually any word containing "man" because it is sexist.
WTF is going on!?
Kids are graduating high school that can't read and we are going to spend class time on music and movie piracy....when are people gonna get it?!
