If you slipstream SP1 into Windows Server 2003 then you'll need to add an extra file to the root of your CD! With all other service pack it adds a Service Pack Identifier file to the root of your CD directory, but SP1 for Windows Server 2003 currently does not do this, so I have provided the 3 files for you to manually install in the root of your CD (not in the I386 directory)! Just download them into the Root of your CD, eg c:\Win2K3\ and it will now work! If you do not have this file in the root of the CD then Windows Setup will ask you to provide the SP1 setup disks during the install!

@IB
I think the 3 files are listed on the site
http://www.betaplace.co.uk/ssp1.asp

Also for slipstreaming I use the IEXBeta slipstreaming tool which seems quite easy as it helps automate the process.
Slipstreamed my Windows Server that way and didn't need to add the extra file

Didn't manage to make it bootable though :P

Has anyone else tried it?

Hi,

I use CDImage to create a self-booting .ISO, the Microsoft way.

If you need a hand, let me know.

Because CDImage is a Dos Window based program, I use a batch file to run the command, a sample is here,m but the filename/directory references won't mean much to you.

Quote:

CDIMAGE.EXE -lyyyyy -bE:\xx-xx\BOOT.BIN -h -n -m -x E:\xx-xx\xx E:\?????.ISO

yyyyy is the CD Volume Label i.e. XP Pro Corporate
E:\xx-xx\BOOT.BIN is the location of the self-booting file
E:\xx-xx\xx is the location of the XP Pro Corporate files
E:\?????.ISO is the name of the .ISO you want to create.

daMANiack,

Thanks for the CDImage command for making the bootable CD.

Can you please attach the BOOT.BIN file for the Server 2003?

Cheers,
McoreD

Hi ~*McoreD*~,

I don't think I have a different one for WinServ03, think I've always used the same one.
