I am trying to figure how to pre-populate message areas for posting a certian post criteria .. I can't seem to figure this out. An example of what I am talking about:

You know how each forum has to be posted a certian way ?? I want to be able to make a posting template so people don't have to keep putting the same info in all the time, and all they would have to do is put the info in without having to type the same thing out.

For example, Say you have a tech forum and you require them to put the type of processor, mem, hd, vid, ect in on each forum. The template would look like this.

Processor: The type of processor they have
mem: The type of memory they have
Vid: The type of video card they have
Ect: Whatever else there is

I would like to be able to make a diff template for each forum. but in the same manner. So does anyone know how to do it ???

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is for invision board by the way .. Thank You

Do you mean when you hit the "reply" button to a post? And if so do you want each forum to have different standards? Where does the data that fills out the certain parts come from? User input? Or predefined per forum?

Just a few questions

It's a pre-made posting template for each forum. So the the layout is already pre-defined.. It would have text in there when you hit the new topic button and the member would put the additional text in themselves.

IE; The text that would already be there would be:
Code:
[code][b]os[/b] [b]vid[/b] [b]ect[/b]
Then the member would fill in whatever is left. Understand now ??

This is racking my brain, I can't figure this out for the life of me.

You could also have some of that info be required when they register, so when they do reply in certian forums like Hardware Support, it could post Motherboard Type, CPU, Ram, HD, etc when they post a new topic! That way it could pull it from what the user put in his profile? Cool, i like it!
