What the "best" FTP server SW is, is hard to say. It all depends on your will/ability to learn something and personal preference. Here's a list with info of available FTP server SW:

Secure..? As secure as you want. Make log in names & passwords, allow access to those you trust, be sure not to publicly post your ftp addie somewhere on the net... Else your private FTP might turn public...
