Hi!
I need your expirence guys! Today I install windows xp for my doughter in old pentium II 400 and have one trouble.Everithing work nice only when I turn off computer the computer not shot down automatic,only have message:It's safe to turn off computer now
I have no this problem in win 98,but now I have.Is any options to fix this?

Hi,
OK, try this:
From the start menu, click
Settings -> Control Panel -> Power Options -> APM tab -> check "enable advanced power management support"
That should fix your problem.

Thanks for asking and also for the answer....I have a spare that sits for long periods of time and I had to do a reinstall and for some reason that was NOT enabled. It was getting aggravating having to push the button.
Oh by the way the one I am using is Win2000 and it is the exact same.
@Rudi1...You may be unhappy with the 400 and XP, I have a slightly overclocked 466 with 512 ram and it is somewhat slow with win2000 in compared to what I have been using. Athough Xp is somewhat easier to configure and appears faster on some machines.
