i tried a while back a shareware program that wasnt really worth it. xp is a multiuser OS, so if you logoff between use and someone else uses the pc and you want to keep them out, for example, you could use NTFS security options, if the disk is NTFS formatted, to prevent access to said folder. you could use this to prevent access to um... "sensitive materials." disable "Use simple file sharing" in the folder options menu and allow access to only the user you wish. this isnt a password protection program but it does basically the same thing; give those who need access to files access and prevents access to those who dont need it. hope this helps.
