Pinned Posts Take Up Too Much Space

Would it be possible to give pinned topics their own space so that it doesn't remove the space from the normal topic titles? Some forum areas have a list of pins and that only leaves space for a few entries on the first page. I like to see what's new and right now it seems like you only see a few new posts on page one and many new posts end up on page two rather quickly. Too quickly IMHO.

My Controls---->Board Settings Change the default for how many threads you see per page and how many posts you see per page to 40
