Well, going back to the Thread Topic for a minute...

As far as software maintaince, its probably a good idea to list some of the most IMPORTANT ones here also...
Here's my regular routine:

Window Washer
Internet history Remover
Steganos Internet History trace eraser
Evidence eliminator
Norton Anti Virus Full Scan
SpyBot
Spyware Remover
Trojan Remover
Norton System works System Check

Plus, at least once a week, a full Defrag with O&O Professional..

Call me paranoid, but this is about Safety and security...

Also, behind a Router, and running software firewall.....
