OK-

I just finished a newsletter for a company I'm doing freelance stuff for, but I'm stuck because I can't insert it into an email. I've tried cutting and pasting the encoding from Internet Explorer to the email, but its not working.

By the way, I'm using Swish (I just switched to Dreamweaver) right now, and I exported the file as an HTML. I've upped it to the server... I opened Adobe Golive and made a frame and linked it to the html file on the server. Then I tried cut and pasting to the email, but it didn't work either.

Please help, I would like to eat something better than tuna fish sandwichs this week.

Thanks in advance

GC

Hi,

The security settings usually won't let some object/scripts etc run within email clients, so maybe that's why you're not seeing your swf. Have you checked the source view of what's actually getting pasted into your email? Is what you're trying to get actually there? If you want to post the url to the page you want run in the email, maybe we can try to sort something out for you. We want you to get paid for that 'freelance' stuff (I know the feeling ).

All the best,
E3

I found that most all take email clients take .zip files so whatever you want to send, just .zip it before you send it. If they can't unzip it when they get it, they are really behind the times.

Or, don't use flash(swish) animation in your newsletters. If it is RollOvers, use javascript. Try to keep the coding simple for those emails, remember, some clients don't use broadband yet so the high animation stuff takes a LONG time to load.

I'm a lucky 56k user here! Oh ya!

I viewed it, looks nice. I found the text to be too small and hard to read. I think you could eliminate the sound/tones on the first page links. I found on many of the pages I was not able to use the IE back button to return to the previous page. I had to use your link on the page to return to the main page. I've only seen this on secure pages like bank accounts & stuff. I hope I don't offend you, I'm just giving you my $.02

I still don't think you should make the WHOLE thing in flash. I viewed it on broadband, and it worked fine. But i'm not even going to try on my 56k connection...

Hi GreenMT,

What you've shown us is a website. Website's aren't Newsletters (for the most part), and there's a difference. Your site really isn't in a form to be delivered via email either. I'd suggest you create a representative mock-up as one jpg or gif and insert that into your email as a link to your website.

All the best,
E3
