You could try initiating the transfer from the other console to see what happens. In all the crashes I have had here I have still not lost any critical data (touch wood )
The crash happens when ever i try to send files from the XP machine to the 98 machine and it happens every time. I havent set the XP machine up for file sharing, simply because its attatched to the internet and sometimes it's neccesary to run with the firewall down.
