Every three or four times I start Winows Explorer (WinXP SP1), I have to resize the window and add the Status Bar again. What makes it lose these settings all the time? I had the same problem before I re-installed XP, then it was fine on the new install for a while, but it's back! I don't have TweakXP because TweakUI caused this exact same problem in Win98 SE. Could it be StyleXP?

Thanx in advance...

richardc2000 is on a distinguished road
I occassionally lose a folder setting and occassionally the status bar - I don't use Style XP, though.

It seems to get worse the longer you have XP loaded. A slight nuisance, that's all. Not worth reloading over. I remember there being a registry entry you delete, then run Explorer again to reset that particular entry.

g-string
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU
and
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags

Delete the "BagMRU" & "Bags" and reset your Explorer settings. That used to keep me going for about 3 months before it needed to be done again. That was before I abandoned XP and went back to W2K.

g-string.

Thanx mucho g-string. I knew there was a setting somewhere, but which of the 100,000 settings?! Wonder what "Bags" are and why they always roam?!

That's been my only problem with XP in 8 months. Finally after 18 years, Bill has ALMOST made a decent product!
