Since I have installed Windows XP going
back to last August, I have had a problem
running games.I get the error "could not
load Open Gl subsystem."
Could anyone possibly give me an insight into what may be causing this problem?
I would appreciate any info that you could
give me.

Just install the drivers for your card provided by the manufacturer... If you have an NVidia based card install the downloadable (//http://www.nvidia.com/) detonator drivers and that will fix your problem!Using the default Windows XP drivers you will not get support for OpenGL.

Hope this helps!

Just make sure to use your vid card manufacturer's drivers instead of XP's native ones, as the native ones have only bare - bones features are do not have the same 3d capabilities as your vid card provider's.

Download GLSetup @ http://www.glsetup.com and see if your Card supports OpenGL. If not you need an new 3d card!!!
