I,ve recieved a few links to music files, which I want to save to my hard drive.

The problem is when I paste them into the address bar rather than getting the option of where to save them or open them, bloody windows media player plays them

Is there an option somewhere to disable the automatic playing of the songs, so I can save them first?

Thanks in advance, as I know someone will know a work around for this

If you 'right-click' on the link to the file, you can save it to your HDD, otherwise it will play the video as it's downloading.

If you hate to play streaming media from Windows Media Player:
I think you can do: Windows Media Player > Options > Network > Streaming Protocols > Untick HTTP.
