Hi guys...a friend has k6/2 500 and a S3 trio 3d/2x (362/368) video card. He has NO NEED for a bigger / better video card.
S3 archive site states that the XP installation will automatically install the correct drivers..IT DOESNT...the card won't even fire up...blank screen. Admittedly the aystem check prior to the installation does state that the board may require additional files...but I have been unable to find a driver for it. Even tellingwin 98 that the card is a generic vga card doesn't help..on XP upgrade t still blanks out at first part of installation....

any help or ideas is appreciated

thx

Hi DitchMonk, many folks can get along with basic video cards. The problem with many addin cards though, when a new system comes out, is Companies take the opportunity to drop Driver Support at that point.

They do not get to sell any more hardware by making new drivers for old stuff, which "Costs". So what happens is your "Video" need becomes a matter of a card that is "Supported". Probably results in spending $$$ for something that has Drivers that work.
