Rather an annoying type bug... For some reason, when I have a few jpgs/gifs on my desktop, it's rather nice seeing a thumbnail of that particular picture, and not an Adobe icon... I dunno if this has happened to any of you, but for some reason, sometimes the thumbnail icons will change to an icon totally different. Let me explain:

So let's say I have a graphic thumbnail on my desktop. At any given time (dunno when this happens), the thumbnail icon will totally change to lets say an AOL IM Transfer File icon (or just about any other random icon)... To get the thumbnail back, I'd have to right click on the thumbnail, select Properties, then click on the Photoshop Image tab, then click the General tab, then click ok... The desktop will then display the correct thumbnail... The great thing about this is that I have to do this for every thumbnail that switched over to a different icon (and usually this is the case where if one switches, they all switch - just graphic files with thumbnail view instead of a normal icon)...

I assume this is a PhotoShop / Windows issue. Has anyone else encountered this strange behavior? And if so, is there a fix for this? It is rather annoying to keep having to go through this process of trying to get the thumbnail to display again on the desktop once it switches... Very odd if you ask me.

If this help: Running PhotoShop 7.0.1, Windows XP SP-1

Thanks for all your help in advance

This happened for me not only for PhotoShop, but for other programs as well. When I restart the computer everything comes to normal. That was the only solution I had.

Yeah, sometimes restarting wouldn't correct the icons... I'd have to follow the steps I outlined in my first post to this thread... Becomes a little bit irritating, don't you think?
