roadworker is an unknown quantity at this point
When I open an app, while playing mp3 or wav ,I get a sound distortion for 1 second,it sounds a bit like metallic sound when skipping the samples .....playing cd's works fine...it's very annoying,it happens almost everytime when I start different apps..
It affects both WinAmp and WMP,and EAC......I uninstalled and reinstalled audiocodecs,WinAmp,disabled WMP,removed and updated my soundcard drivers, removed my soundcard to enable onboard sound chip......however,it seems that the mp3's and wavs are ok.
According to EncSpot and a wave editor, there's nothing wrong with the music files, they also play fine on my other partition, but I can't get them to work properly on my win2k.....I have 512 sdram, and always between 340-370 free,so that can't be the problem...

You didn't tell the B1 members you installed Roxio EZ6 did you?

I had a sound problem after installing Driver Magic.
It recommended 4 updates. Soundblaster voodoo3 was 2 of them.
After installation there was an interference buzz from the speakers, especially when the cursor was over live links.
Solution revert back to old drivers, and bin Driver Magic, only 1 out of 4 upgrades was compatable with my system.

Ok here a suggestion, is the mic to close to your speakers when you start the apps. and muting itself when it notices the problem, or have you tried turning down the acceleration a notch?
