I have an ASUS P4 2.4Ghz (with USB 2.0), 512MB ram, 2 80 GB HD, CD-RW, DVD-R, sound, etc. , with an external USB hub with a IOMEGA HDD (30G and a Visioneer Strobe Pro connected. The Iomega drive keeps refinding itself, sometimes 10-15 times a day. I have another hub connected with a Jaz drive, a Casio CD printer and a UPS. The Casio will sometimes lose itself and have to be reinstalled. I have tried switching the plugs in the hubs and this works briefly, but then the problem reoccurs. This can't be normal - what do I do?

A had this problem on an ASUS A7V8X Socket A board, but only on one of the usb ports available for connection to the front of the cabinet. That is, there are 4 ports on the back of the board and 2 on the board that can be connected via cables to the front or an additional bracket on the back. The problem doesn't occur on the other ports. In my case it was happening with an external usb 2.0 hard drive.

After I updated the firmware via the Asus web site it seems to be corrected.
