Apple announced Monday a new Xserve RAID storage system, and increased the speed of its Xserve rack-mount servers. Xserve RAID features up to 14 hot-swappable ATA/100 drives totaling 2.5 terabytes of storage. The unit can be connected to an Xserve or Power Mac G4 with the 2GB Apple Fibre Channel PCI Card. The updated Xserve systems now include 1.33GHz processors along with two FireWire 800 ports, and are priced $200 less than the previous models.
