SOURCES CLOSE TO AMD Taiwan have given the INQUIRER an inkling of price cuts on multiprocessor chips to come.
AMD will take the axe to its MP prices one day after Intel announces a spate of price cuts across the board.

So if you think the 21st century is totally different from the 20th century, think again.

The boxed MP CPUs, which arrive with a three year guarantee, will cost the following to system builders from then.

MP2000+ $137
MP2200+ $177
MP2400+ $202
MP2600+ $273

These are chips in boxes. Chips in trays are priced differently.

Very oddly, AMD will not cut prices on the 2600+ MP processor on that day.

Planet Bartonia must be scheduled for introduction soon after, so get your workstation builds at the ready.
