I think,

This is the more easy distribution for beginner

Very easy to install and make setup of your hardware

Linux install hardware as they are not as generic or other like windows

And if your device is not in, just compile a new kernell

SubZero, Linux has its own bootloader called LiLo, which will be writen to the MBR if you do install it. As far as I know ntldr does not boot into Linux. If you want there are certain distributions that will install onto a "windows" partition. Otherwise you will have to create new partitions for it. Hope this helps.

Eheheh XP/Mandrake dual booter here

There are two possiblities First install XP the linux .Linux will create a partition for itself which size decided by you.And let you boot up into windows by LiLo(stands for LinuxLoad )

Second you install linuz than xp wtf? Linux gone? No! Create boot a floppy while installing linux. Boot from floppy and change the boot loader to lilo and you will have change to choose which os to load!

Have fun!

Hi,

I always had windows already installed -first- and a nice-sized partition available for linux. I've always used Mandrake. It's been very easy for me to use (translated: learn on!!) Lilo always took care of any boot problems for me.

It may not be very much help, but it's my 2pennies worth! Enjoy.

i've heard (at first) then saw (personally yes) that mandrake could be booted with ntldr instead of lilo..:
