What the faq.
My computer says it is a AMD Athlon XP 1500+. Yet it's suppose to be an XP 2200+.
Am I fucked or what?
Using Win98 Second Edition for now on my new comp. Since hard drive is a pos shit and WinXP wont install.
This is very strange. i want to make sure the place I got it from didnt faq me.
Thanks,
Will

Kinda weird problem
Um, I suspect this is something to do with the FSB and the multiplier.
Check your m/board's to see if the FSB is that 100MHz or 133MHz. Since the multiplier of XP 2200+ is 13.5, if it is set to 100MHz, then the clock speed will be approx. 1350MHz (which is 1362mhz in your case). If it is set to 133MHz, then the clock speed is approx. 1795.5 MHz which is actually should be in XP 2200+. Hope that helps

What kind of motherboard do you have. I know certain motherboards are having this issue between 100 mhz and 133 mhz FSB setup.

Yes , most probably the FSB is set to 100 , I had this same problem when I set up my 1800+
my MB was an EPoX , check the manual and the jumper should not be hard to find , otherwise there may be a setting in BIOS. my board had both .

Um yea all right werid. I know I had it set to 133 but a friend had changed it when I had a few problems. He did not tell me so.
Well glad it worked.
Now just to overclock it a little bit.
