Pretty interesting topic.
Well, talking about OSes: Windows XP SP2 will be released, as I have read that they have cancelled releasing a Windows XP Second Edition. Office 11 (.NET?) will release in the middle of the next year as well.
nVidia releases the GeForce FX video card on February/March which reckons would be 30% to 50% faster than the current best video card ATI's Radeon 9700 Pro.
Technology of DVD Burners should get more developed. The current DVD Burners has got the Burn Proof Technology and high buffer memory like 8MB, but the recording speed is not enough. I am curious about the future of CD Burners. I have heard that the CD Burners have already achieved the highest practical speed (52x). There is enough technology to make burners faster than that. But in practical, there is no good for the CDR to spin that much fast, where there is a high possibility for the CDR to crack.
Intel already released their first processor with the new technology HTT (Hyper Threading Technology) and will be looking forward to release more processors with higher clock speed. It will be the time to AMD to release their next revolutionary processor to try to compete with the P4.
That's enough from me
