[quote:ba4e70e3d3]

If you want to avoid getting busted at work or just don't want people to see where you've been, then there are four areas that should be cleared from your computer: (Based on Microsoft environment) For Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher:
1. Clear History File: The "Clear History" button clears the pages visited from the drop down list on your browser. To delete the files, have Internet Explorer opened and go to: Tools - InternetOptions - click Clear History. This clears the web adresses in the drop down list of the browser as well as in Windows Explorer C:/Windows/History
2. Delete Temporary Internet Files: On your browser -Tools - InternetOptions - click Delete files (This deletes the files directly from C:/Windows/Temporary Internet Files) in Windows Explorer.
3. Delete Cookies: from Windows Explorer. C:/Windows/Cookies. They can look like this: Mike@sexshow[1].txt. To disable or be prompted of cookies go to: Tools - Internet Options - Security - Custom Level - under Cookies select either Disable or Prompt
4. Empty Documents Folder: be sure to check the "Documents" shortcut feature found in the "Start" button menu underneath "Programs". To clear or "Empty" this area go to: Start - Settings - Taskbar - click on the Start Menu Programs tab - click the Clear button.
If you use Netscape or another browser or have an older version browser, delete them manually from Windows Explorer. Go to Windows Explorer and:
1. Delete your address bookmarks stored in your History file. Located in C:/Windows/History
2. Delete your Temporary Internet files (graphics) that have built up on you computer in this file. Located in C:/Windows/ Temporary Internet Files
3. Delete your cookies (bookmarks of sites visited) that have built up from surfing. Located in C:/Windows/Cookies. Or turn off your acceptance of Cookies on your browser while on the Internet.
4. Delete documents stored in the documents file. Located at Start - Settings - Taskbar - Start Menu Programs tab - Clear

Get Rid of Those Pop-up Consoles
Pop-up consoles are extra windows that appear when you enter a site or exit a site. Just another way for webmasters to get more traffic to their sponsors or their other sites If you do not enjoy them, then here's how to make your adult Internet surfing less irritating:
Internet Explorer 5.0
Click on Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - Custom Level - (scroll down) Scripting - select disable Active Scripting. Click OK.
Optional JavaScript disabling: Under Active scripting, disable paste operations via script, and Scripting of Java applets. Click OK.
Internet Explorer 4.0
Click on View - Internet Options - Security - Custom (for expert users) - Settings - (scroll down) to Scripting - disable Active Scripting. Click OK
Optional JavaScript disabling: Disable Scripting of Java applets. Click OK.
Less than 4.0 in Internet Explorer
Click on View - Options - Security turn off "Run Active X Scripts" - Apply - Click OK.
Netscape Communicator 4.61
Click on - Edit - Preferences - Advanced (on left) - click off Enable JavaScript - OK.
Netscape Communicator 4.0
Click on Edit - Preferences - Advanced - uncheck JavaScript - OK.
Less than 4.0 in Netscape (3.0, 3.1...)
Click on Options - Network Preferences - Languages - uncheck JavaScript.
AOL:
Click on Members - Preferences - WWW - the Security tab, uncheck JavaScript
To quickly close the pop-up windows press ALT-F4, this closes the active window on your browser which will be the pop-up window because it is the most recent. Or try ALT-TAB.

You could also use "Don't Panic - Pop-Up Stopper Companion" with IE and have it set to do all that plus some for when you close IE
