I tried it m8
But I got stuck here...
./configure --enable-gui worked nicely.
but make didn't work
So did make install

tar xjvf MPlayer-0.90prexxx.tar.bz2
cd MPlayer-0.90pre6
./configure --enable-gui
make
su
make install
