AOL finally offers a good version of its Netscape Web browser based on the open source Mozilla. If you currently use Internet Explorer, you should at least take a look at Netscape 7. It's a free download and offers more features. But if you currently use Mozilla, you will find Netscape a gaudier version, missing a key feature.
Netscape 7's interface is almost too crowded with features. On the left side of the screen, the sidebar shows a lot of content to get you started, such as shopping, entertainment, and map interfaces. It also displays bookmarks, history, and search links, letting you easily get back to content you've previously looked at. Netscape is based on Mozilla, so it lets you use the same tabbed window surfing, an incredible convenience if you are used to surfing multiple sites. One feature Netscape left out from its Mozilla codebase is the pop-up killer, in a nod to site publishers.
