Hi

I am using XP PER Edition and I have just reinstalled it and noticed (for the first time since I have been using XP), that in OE6/Tools/Options/Security Tab, the "APPLY" button is always highlighted (i.e. ready to apply, just as if you have changed something and would then need to apply the change and the button would then "gray-out)

If I change/uncheck/check any option under the security tab (and in particular, the "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" option), the APPLY button is active but when I press it to apply the change, the button remains active instead of graying-out.

This leads to the problem that even though the "Do not allow attachments etc, etc, etc " option is checked, if I have an email with an attachment, the attachment should be grayed out (not active) until I uncheck that option, I can still save and open it. Now that should not happen.

Anyone know if this is a known M$ problem and has got any ideas what the problem is and if there is a fix for it?

BTW: This problem is only with options under the security tab, ALL other options in ALL other tabs, work fine.

Regards

I see what you mean. It is kinda weird. I went to all the other tabs except for the Security tab. And the Apply button was deavtivated. At last I went to the Security tab, and then the Apply button activated. Pretty sure, this should be a bug. Well done! You noticed that!

BTW, I found a similar bug in Windows Media Player 8. Same kinda problem related to the Apply button. But now in Windows Media Player 9, it is fixed.
