ahoy

all my games that run normal stereo or mono, works 100%. but once i enable AEX for surround sound, when ever a sound gets created in a speaker, its a LOUD scratchy noise. almost as if its distorting....whats up? and another thing, when i enable it, my audio software resets to 2 speaker mode, when its surposed to stay on 5.1 speaker mode. why does it do this?

i got the winfast audio card....

leadtek winfast 6xsound , dolby digital ac-3 , dts , 5.1 , eax + spdif ( coaxial & optical ) in/out

whats up with it?
all my games. ie : NFS HP 2, Mafia, UT 2K3. whats going on?

you'all have a good day now

my sb audigy does this sometimes too... the first thing i can think of is to try updating the drivers if you can, if not even try just uninstalling the ones you have and reinstalling them

i dont' think it's a common problem with eax itself, some drivers run eax flawlessly from what i can tell, others are buggy like the problems you described, so i'd think it's more of a driver / os compatibility problem
