I have had this happen to me,and the only way I have figured out how to delete them is to boot up with a ME or 98 startup floppy and delete them using DOS
same,
plus, i try to delete them using Safe Mode.
it works sometimes.
this happened to me in FAT32 partitions, never happened when my hdds are NTFS.
