Can someone please help me on my wife's computer with a sound problem. It is a home built ax59pro with an amd 550 processor. It has an Nvidia TNT 2 with 32mb and a soundblaster pci sound card. When I use the nvidia drivers the sound wierds out, like the display accelerates both the display and the sound. If I use microsoft's windows ME drivers there's no display acceleration but the sound works. Whats going on here. I installed directX 8.0 and that didn't help and I'm usind the drivers from creative that are signed.

There are various Drivers out there that will "Accelerate the MOBO chipset. Generally that will increase the speed of the PCI Bus as well as other parts of the machine. Applying Video acceleration Drivers to speed up the AGP slot can have the same effect. The net result is a PCI sound card will go faster too. The answer is to find Sound Drivers that will correct for these conditions. Possibly Sound Blaster has a solution, or you could use another Brand of sound card that does.
